An NFL Network report Monday night cited a source that said the idea of coaching the Bears or Texans "would excite,'' Cowher if the job becomes open.

He needs to come to Dallas. No more cupcake training camp for the boys.

Hmm...Washington DC is much closer to his home in North Carolina than Buffalo is...

Yes Sir... Yes it is.

Good job Coach. Stay away from the AFC.

None of these big names that are out there are shuffling off to Buffalo. With Gruden and Dungy not coming back to coaching, that leaves Cowher, Shanahan and somebody else I can't think of right now with rings and none of them want to deal with a rebuilding project.

NFW Cowher works for the idiot in DC. He'll want control of the team, to build a winner his way, and that won't happen with a meddling owner who can't just get the hell out of the way.

Heck with Cowher in Washington, coaching is not the problem. Snyder has to go!! He missed 2 FG's this weekend. and should have gone for a TD on one of them.

November 24, 2009  07:26 AM ET

Buffalo would have been one of the situation that I might have thought Coach Cowher would have been interested in. Really can't see him going to work for Snyder or JJ and if he did can't see either one of them surviving the first season. Chicago? Believe that he said he wanted to stay close to home so unless somebody moved North Carolina.......

I have too much respect for Cowher to wish the DC job on him, as much as I'd like to see him take it. Like Sauron, the Dark Lord Snyder does not share power. Take your ring elsewhere, Bill, for your own sake.

You watch too much ESPN, Sir.

Dan Snyder missed 2 FG's last week? Well, at least he is trying to earn his money by getting out on the field, or is this where the term "idiot kicker" came from?

Nah...just hate seeing a once-proud franchise being driven into the ground

Panthers will land him if the opportunity presents itself. Done deal.

I'm a life-long Redskin fan, and live in D.C.... It has been a very painful season.

I concur 100%.

During the long, dark, cellar-dwelling days here in NE, the Skins were my back-up team. I feel your pain.

There's only one place Bill Cowher will go and there should be an opening in the off-season... CAROLINA PANTHERS. Bill's family lives there and he wouldn't have to work for an owner like Dan Snyder. The cupbard isn't bare and it has the excellent running attack that cowher covets.
