Sunday's sideline altercation between Cowboys secondary coach Dave Campo and cornerback Terence Newman is common in NFL games, Phillips and several players said. Campo and Newman stood practically nose-to-nose during a heated discussion after Newman's hands-to-the-face penalty. Assistant coaches stepped between them. The argument ended when Phillips intervened. On Monday, Phillips went toe-to-toe with reporters on the subject. "That's normal. It happens a lot, sure," Phillips said. "And you're looking at it from one side where you don't know what's going on."

With 30 seconds remaining and the Patriots leading by 17 points and having thoroughly outplayed the Jets, Tom Brady, working out of a shotgun formation of all things, launched a long pass attempt to Randy Moss. With Moss covered well by Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, as he had been all game, the pass fell incomplete, but the damage was done. Yes," he said with no hesitation. "It was surprising. We needed to stop them anyway, so no biggie, but I was surprised and I did feel a little disrespected." Ryan then made sure he got a dig on Moss. "I looked at it as an opportunity for us," Ryan said. "Throw it up deep; our guy is going to come down with it more than your guy is. If they want to throw it up to Revis, that's great. If they'd have thrown it to [Wes] Welker [who had 15 catches for 192 yards] again, I might have had a problem with it."
