This Saturday at Stanford, Charlie Weis will likely be coaching his alma mater for the final time. Weis' agent, Bob Lamont, will probably field a half-dozen offers within the first week from the NFL for vacant offensive coordinator positions. "I'm more respected there," Weis says. "I'm more well-liked there." And somewhere next season he will be coaching. "I need to work," he says. "For me." Asked if he should be gone, where would Charlie Jr. would go to college, the coach reponded: "I know where he won't be going to college."

Ari Fleischer Sports Communications, a sports public relations firm that works with NFL and Major League Baseball teams, was hired Saturday by new BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock to "highlight the positive aspects of the BCS." Fleischer may have trouble declaring mission accomplished, because this college football issue doesn't just fall on party lines. Even if they disagree on many national issues, Democrats and Republicans alike at least share similar views on the BCS.

Jimmy Johnson isn't sold on Florida quarterback Tim Tebow. "I don't think Tim Tebow can play in the NFL if it's in a pro style offense," Johnson said. Johnson said a team will have to do one of two things with Tebow. Either turn him into an H-Back and receiver. Or if you use him at quarterback, you have to change the offense and probably the head coach.
